With not long to go until the next Impact48 Weekend (4th – 6th Oct) we are still busily seeking creative and skilled volunteers. Our volunteers are vital in making the Edinburgh Cyrenians Weekend a success, so we are pleased to share the exciting news of our next volunteer!

Jennifer is a Digital Marketing, Social Media & PR Strategies Consultant and Director of Social StampedeSocial Stampede is a full-service Digital Marketing firm, specialising in digital marketing and social media strategies tailored to small and medium-sized businesses. I tracked Jennifer down to find out a little bit about her involvement with Impact48.

How did you hear about the weekend?

Through social media – I saw some action from participants from the last Impact 48 on Twitter and Facebook, so signed up for the newsletter to be part of the next one.

Why do you want to be involved in Impact48?

I come from a charity background and the third sector has always been a passion for me. I love being involved in bringing people with different skills together to create something for the greater good.

Describe yourself in three words.

Hard question! Usually sociable, often dorky, and sometimes intrepid.

4) Describe your company in a nutshell.

Digital Marketing for small businesses. (that’s the very compact nutshell version)

What do you perceive your role to be over the weekend and what are you hoping to bring to the challenge?

I have no idea! But I hope I can bring my experience in charity and digital marketing to benefit the team.

What are you expecting?

I try not to carry expectations when I do new things. It’s a feng shui lifestyle thing… But I expect good things!

What do you hope to gain from the weekend?

I certainly hope that we can produce a result for the charity, and also have a great weekend ourselves and collaborate with some new people I don’t otherwise get to work with.

I’m also helping to organise Startup Weekend Glasgow in October, so hopefully I can carry some lessons from Impact48 to apply to SWG13.

What is your favourite home baked treat?

Haven’t met one I don’t like… But of course the favourite is apple crumble.

We are delighted to have Jennifer on board! With her skills, experience and expertise we can wait to see what Jennifer and the other volunteers will achieve for Edinburgh Cyrenians over the weekend. Without the time and energy of our wonderfully generous volunteers, the Impact48 weekends could not take place. So we would like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to Jennifer, we’ll see you soon!

There is still time to volunteer with Impact48!

We are still welcoming volunteers for the next Edinburgh Cyrenians Impact48 Weekend on October 4th-6th. We are looking for all sorts of volunteers with all sorts of skill sets, so if you would like to find out more or volunteer for our next weekend please get in touch with us! Email at admin@impact48.org.

We are also looking for other kinds of assistance for the weekend such as sponsors or perhaps fuel for the volunteers! Could you or your business help? Find out more about sponsoring or get in touch with us at admin@impact48.org.
